I'm sure he's trembling. In case you don't know, Apple isn't on this forum. This forum is hosted by Apple, but is user to user only. Telling you definitely not was not rude, but was in fact absolute fact. iPhone is not now, nor has it EVER been water proof. It is water resistant, which is a huge difference. More to the point, should you get damage from liquid in your iPhone, it is not covered by your iPhone warranty and will require you buying a replacement phone in either out of warranty or if you have AppleCare+ reduced cost, but it will cost you none-the-less.

It is definitely not waterproof.
Nowhere has Apple ever stated it is.
Here's Apple's statement:
Definitely not.
Is that supposed to be funny. If this was a real user they would be put off by this your post has been reported and will be seen to by staff in cork.
Ok.
You think this forum operates out of Ireland?
What? He's right. It's water-resistant, no iPhone has been water-proof. Don't get the phone in touch with any liquid, it can very well harm it.
