can't install mojave 10.14.6 update

I'm trying to install the Mojave 10.14.6 update on my MacBook Pro (mid-2012). I read the August 5, 2019 post (can't install mojave 10.14.6 - Apple Community) on this topic, and followed the directions to restart in Safe Mode, then install the update. Unfortunately, that didn't work, and I got the same error code - 7e7aee96ca. Can anyone recommend another approach?

I discovered that redownloading the combo update from https://support.apple.com/kb/DL2010?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US (as the user did here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250770157) solved the issue.
