embedded links in email do not open full screen

When I click on links embedded in emails I can’t get them to display full screen on my iPad. They open is a small screen on the right. I am able to move the screen, enlarge text within the screen, and swipe to the right to remove it. I have not been able to figure out how to view that page full screen without copying the url and pasting it in the browser!

I have a 7th generation iPad and software version 13.3
