Apple TV 4K audio issues

My Apple TV 4K is playing audio through my receiver (to the receivers speakers) but when I connect my receiver to my TV, the receiver no longer sends audio to the speakers. My old Apple TV and Chromecast still play audio just fine. Thoughts?
