Got iPad from deceased relative. Know Apple ID but don’t know password. Any suggestions?

Apple products are locked using an Apple ID, so to unlock the device, the easiest route is to delete the Apple ID. Special teams at Apple handle these requests. The person who calls will need to be the legal representative of the deceased.

Reset to factory settings, change the Apple ID account.
