Mac recognises PC, unable to migrate

I've exhausted the internet and forums. Mac recognises the pc, migration app keeps searching for the Mac. Mac says unable to reach the pc. Must be something with the pc settings? Really need to get files off the pc before it quits on me. Help gratefully received.

Step 2 of the official procedure requires you to have an Admin Account on the PC:

Move your data from a Windows PC to your Mac - Apple Support

Step 4 provides a link to instruction on how to remove OneDrive on your PC (and that its removal is required)..

thanks. Yes, several times, it just keeps searching for the mac. Of the 100's of pages I've read, is it a requirement to unistall one drive? Also, do I have to be logged on as an administrator? It's my pc, I've never had an administrator log in so a bit confused.
