I have switched my Apple Mac on but there is a flashing question mark on the screen that won’t go away and my Mac won’t turn on?

Start up from macOS Recovery
To start up from macOS Recovery, turn on your Mac and immediately press and hold one of the following combinations on your keyboard. Release the keys when you see an Apple logo, spinning globe, or other startup screen.

Upgrade to the latest macOS that is compatible with your Mac.
Reinstall the macOS that came with your Mac, or the closest version still available.
I used Command (⌘)-R
I tried the control R but that didn’t work. Any other suggestions?
Hopefully you meant command R.
Maybe someone else will have an idea.
Which one is the command key?
is it ctrl? 😬
The one that says "cmd". Next to the Space Bar. Unless you have a non-US Apple keyboard.
If you have a Windows PC keyboard, it would be the "Windows" key.
I dont it’s just a normal keyboard?
