I have Catalina OS.
I can't delete files from my desktop or move them to another folder, but I have no problems doing it from any other part of my computer.
I have restarted my MBP several times, also closed all programs and the problem does not seem to be fixed.
I'd appreciate any ideas to fix it.

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

Hmm, as far as I know, this command isn't working since Apple introduced SIP in El Capitan.
I recommend you to double check "Get info" for Desktop once again. Your user should have "Read&Write" access to manipulate files properly.
Permits are the same.
This was very comprehensive, I followed the indications but did not solve the problem.
