Preview won't open any files

Hey, preview on my mac (Macbook pro 2019, macOS Catalina 10.15.1) recently decides to not open any files (pdfs, pngs...). Also I have problems with opening Microsoft Word files and have no idea why is this happening. Any clues?

Thank you.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at startup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

For the Microsoft Word files, Look into the Free LibreOffice, it handles MS Office files…

There's always Acrobat DC for PDF files until we fix your problems...
