iPhone7: After upgrade to ios 13.2.3, it starts failing to detect (AT&T) service signal when enable 'Location Services'

After upgrade to ios 13.2.3 on iPhone7, it keep showing "Searching..." -> Crash -> Restart

I narrowed down the issue, and it appears to occur only when enable 'Location Services'.

Without enable 'Location Services', things are working as expected.

Has anyone experienced similar issue?

Hi there,

Try the following steps: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201415

Then, if these steps do not help, see if your iPhone is covered by this repair program: https://support.apple.com/iphone-7-no-service

Hi there,

Have you checked with Apple to see if the No Service repair program for iPhone 7 applies to your iPhone? This sounds like it would be the result of the failure of a component on the logic board, as mentioned in the description for the repair program here. It may, however, have happened at the same time you updated iOS.

Also, try the following steps if you have not tried them already.

If you see No Service or Searching on your iPhone or iPad

Updated to iOS 13.2.3 on 19 November because my iPhone 7 kept crashing having (foolishly) updated it to iOS 13, telling me it was searching for phone and mobile data.

In the past two days it has started to repeatedly crash, while playing either a Podcast or listening to Apple Music on the phone, searching for phone and mobile data.

I crashes when a text is sent to me or a phone call is made to me.

I thought I had the solution of putting it into Flight mode BEFORE I switch it off and then turn it on, wait for it to be on and then switch Flight mode off. It then would immediately find phone and mobile data.

But in the past hour while I have been out and about in town, it has crashed and repeatedly not found phone or mobile data.

I have tried “Command click” on a Mac: this just tells me I have the latest version!

I have tried deleting apps to reduce the amount of internal memory storage. So I now have 119Gb in use on a 128Gb phone.

I have swiped all running apps away, so that it is not trying to run any in the background.

Finally, at home having put it into Flight mode, switched it off, waited a bit, turned it on, waited a bit and then switched Flight mode off. SUCCESS - it found Vodafone and mobile data. Is it the Wi-Fi it likes that enabled connection?

ANYWAY, I still think this update is crap.

There was another iOS update(13.3) yesterday so I did upgrade as hoping that 13.3 fixes this issue.

Things got worse after update, the workaround (disable Location Service) doesn't work anymore.

now the phone is stuck in loop of "No Service" <-> 'Searching'

Is this how Apple force old phone users to upgrade to new iPhone?

My iPhone 7 continues to crash even though it’s been updated to 13.3.

Updated to iOS 13.2.3 on 19 November. Since then constant stream of crashes with same message:

“Mobile data update failed. Your iPhone cannot make or receive calls or access mobile data until it has been updated”

It’s definitely to do with location services.

But it’s been working fine now for two days (fingers crossed) because I did the following in the following order:

Make sure that there is not a single app that is “always using your location”. Set them to “only whilst using”.

Close every single app.

Turn off location services – all of them.

Set iPhone to flight mode.

Restart iPhone.

Turn off flight mode.

Turn location services back on.
