Searching for files on work Server with Mac?

I use a Mac at work and have a difficult time searching for specific files on the work server, is there an easy way to do this that I am just missing? It just keeps saying "searching this Mac" and that is not what I want.... I want it to search the server. I feel like I am making this way more complicated than it has to be.

Hello,

While you are connected to the file server, open a new Finder window displaying the contents of the server. When you start searching for a file > Within the Search options bar (as shown in the screenshot) > Tap your file server. Within my screenshot it says "Time Machine" as this is the file server I am currently connected to. Your file server will have a different name.
