Updated and lost folder on hard drive. Help

I just noticed that a folders I had on my hard drive are gone. Is it due to updating to Catalina??? How do I recover lost folders???? Thanks

Were that located outside your home folder? If so, look in Relocated Items (it is in /Users/Shared/, but there should be an alias on your Desktop).

I can't find my file/documents on hard drive after Catalina update I'd appreciate help. I update to Catalina and afterward I can't find any of my documents/folders that used to be on my hard drive. Thank you, G.
