Safe mode

I can't get my iMac to start in safe mode.

Is there a trick to this?

Starting in Safe Mode can take up to 10 minutes to restart, you need to continue holding down the Shift Key until the computer restarts in Safe Mode. Have you done both of these steps, waiting up to 10 minutes and continue holding down the Shift Key?

If you are using a wireless keyboard, you may need to use a USB wired keyboard however in most cases that is not necessary.
