Get rid of screensaver password?

All the security settings I can find are turned off regarding requiring a password to get out of the screensaver, yet there it is asking me for my password quite often. Not every time, and I can't see any rhyme or reason why it only asks sometimes. I don't ever want to have to enter my password to get out of the screensaver. It's a Mac Pro—it doesn't go anywhere!

They've gone waaay overboard with security in 10.15.

Mac Pro, macOS 10.15

Take a look at this:

Require a password after waking your Mac

https://support.apple.com/en-ie/guide/mac-help/mchlp2270/mac

On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click Security & Privacy, then click General.

  • click on the padlock in the bottom left of your Mac in order to be able to make changes
  • Select “Require password… after sleep or screen saver begins”.
  • Click the pop-up menu and choose the time that passes before a password is required.
  • Select also Advanced in order to verify when the Mac will automatically log you after some minutes of inactivity and if you selected require admin password to access system wide preferences.

You can try a SafeBoot to clear system cache files— SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, etc.

Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

if no resolve go ahead and reset NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379

There is no harm in these resets.
