I can receive IMessages on my IPad Air but not SMS messages, how do I fix this?

Your iPad can only send/receive SMS if is coupled with an iPhone (with its own Cellular plan). Stand-alone, the iPad (either with or without its own SIM) does not support SMS/MMS messaging.
So, do you have an iPhone with an active Cellular plan? If so, we can help.
