IPhone XS Max stuck on update requested for days. Why?

Try removing the update from Settings>General>iPhone Storage and try reinstalling again.

If the option to delete the update is not available or the update fails to install again, try installing the update via iTunes using the instructions here: https://support.apple.com/HT204204
