I can't find any of my documents following the new system update to Catalina?

I used to have a file called 'documents' with all my work in, but can no longer see it? Please help!

Documents missing / deleted after Catalina update After installing the new Catalina software, the contents of my Documents folder have disappeared? After looking at the storage on my computer they are still registered as being on the computer only now categorised in the 'Other' section? As well as this, the Documents folder has been removed from my Dock, instead being replaced by an iCloud Drive folder. I am unable to find any of the documents on my Computer. Everything else on my computer (downloads, music, notes, apps, etc.) have remained so I am confused as to what's happened? What can I do to get these files back, as they seem to be on my computer still based off of what my storage is saying?

Lost Documents with Catalina update The only documents that I can find are the few I have under "recents". I tried a few suggestions found online but to no avail. Any ideas where my documents could be?

The Documents folder is part of the default set of folders installed by macOS.

If you open a New Finder Window, you u should see documents in the sidebar on the left

or if you navigate in Column View, click on Users, click on <Home> you should see

Documents in the 3rd column. See screenshot below.
