Imovie not enough disk space

Hi I have recently updated my macbook pro to Catalina via apple software update I have started to work on a porject using iMovie but I am getting an error message not enough disk space when I have got 700gb free. My Imovie version is 10.1.10, the mac os version 10.15.

Others have solved this issue by doing a redownload of iMovie. In your case you would be updating iMovie from 10.1.10 to 10.1.12 (current version). If the current version update still gives the "not enough disk space" message then try redownloading the current version. Zany, I know.
