I downloaded the mac catalina upgrade which required me to also upgrade microsoft office and now I can't access my excel files. can anyone assist pls.
Do you still have an older copy of MS Office on your Mac?
Close any Excel file and right-cick or command-i to "Get Info". Then in the "Open With" panel choose your new Excel App and then click on "Change All".

You need to right-click on any Excel file and then choose "Get Info" from the menu it presents. Or you can click on the file and then press the command-i keys. After that, from the "Open with" pane choose the new Word program. Then click on "Change All".

thanks for your help. managed to open an existing excel file (don't know how!!) but clicking "command-i" does nothing. Not sure where the cursor should be aimed to make this happen. pls don't give up on me!!
The old copy is in there but when I try to open it, its telling me that it need to be updated, which I've already done. ???
