iPad Pro WiFi issue

My iPad Pro WiFi is acting strange. The WiFi seems to be working but no WiFi symbol is visible next to the battery %. Any ideas?

I did. It turned out to be my VPN app. I have to contact them for help. Thanks for the advice.
