the carrier have their own, never heard of a carrier not demanding you use their sim cards, one usually get it for free when one sign up for a contract with them. some carriers have you pay a bit if you keep losing the sim and need a replacement

That would depend on where you obtain the SIM card. Most cellular providers wouldn’t charge for a replacement SIM.
