Hi,
Since I downloaded "macOS CATALINA", when I try to add a new mp3 song in to my iTunes library, it can't read it. It "shows" quickly the Icon of the song being transferred to iTunes, but when I research the song inside my library, I can't find it.
Could someone help me ?

In principle the old library files are redundant once you've upgraded to Music, TV, Podcasts, & Books, however they also provide a potential recovery route if the new library is damaged at any point. It might be a little early to worry about cleaning them up. They're not taking up a lot of room.

ITunes or the Music app will silently reject any files it doesn't think are valid. Could the tracks be miscategorised? Place a copy in the Automatically Add to iTunes folder inside media folder to see if it is absorbed into the library or moved into a Not Added folder when rejected.

I'll try to do that. When I go the media folder, I can see many iTunes libraries but they're all different : .itl / .xml / .itdb / library.extra/ library.genius ... Is there any of them I can delete ? (so I avoid stocking useless data).

All right. Thanks for the help. Just a last one : Is it possible to "downgrade" iTunes to its previous version and still be able to synchronise my iPhone ?

I just did what you advice me to : copy those new mp3 in the "automatically Add to iTunes folder" inside media folder, it absorbs them, and iTunes read them.
Now that it's working, should I delete those MP3 from this folder ?

There is certainly no supported downgrade route for iTunes. There may be some hacks out there, but they could break on each Catalina upgrade.

As long as Music has the active copies stored in the media folder you can delete any originals stored elsewhere if you wish.
