I updated to Catalina and I can not get to iPhoto where all my pictures are how do I get my pictures back from iPhoto

I updated to Catalina and I can not get my iPhoto pictures it won't allow me to says iPhoto isn't supported?

Open the iPhoto Library with Photos, the app that replaced iPhoto more than 4 years ago.


Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch Photos. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and point at your iPhoto Library. It will do the rest.
