Mac OS X 10.14.6
My Sony DRX-S70U-W CD drive worked fine. I just installed 10.14.6, and now it doesn't. In the USB Device Tree (Apple menu > About This Mac > System Report > USB), it shows up as "Vendor-Specific Device," and in Finder it shows up as "Remote Disc." When I insert a CD or DVD, the drive spins up, but the disc doesn't show up in Finder or iTunes or anywhere else. What gives?

Still shows up in the USB tree as before, but does not show up in Finder.
Default behavior previously was iTunes would ask if I want to rip the CD. iTunes doesn't see the disc at all now.
If you use it a lot for importing and burning, then it may just have a dusty or dirty laser lens and I would try a dry cleaning disc, then gently blow it out.
