Since update email attachments can't be viewed within the mail app nor can you get the correct app to pen them when selecting them... also... open in iBooks is no longer an option for pdfs etc...

Ok... that was a quick fix.... amazing what a double shot espresso will do...
So for anyone with the same problem... I also had Autodesk360 mobile app on my ph which had taken over the default opening app for pdf attachments... once deleted everything went back as it should.
