Can I restore an old ipad?
I am trying to update an Ipad 2 for a client. Can I update it from a back up of a newer ipad?

You cannot restore a backup made with a newer version of iOS to a device running an older version of iOS.

To restore an iPad from a backup, the backup will need to be made on the same system software version or older than what is running on the iPad.
