Tags cannot be deleted in Finder preferences

Good evening!

Through a software bug I had more than 70.000 tags in Finder which made the Finder irresponsive and Save and open dialogues not usable anymore. I was able to delete most of them but 550 tags remain which I can't delete. Some contain quotation marks, umlauts and apostrophes but most of them seem to be normal text (see screenshot attached). Any ideas how to delete these as well?

Thank you

These files have extended attributes which you can see in a Terminal.app window with the command:

ls -lae@ filename

You can remove extended attributes with the command using the "xattr" command -- do a "man xattr" for help in using the command.

Good luck...
