Mojave, some finder windows have no side bar If I create a new finder window with command N, or double click my computer desktop icon I get a finder window with no sidebar. Also it will not respond to "show sidebar" either from the menu or from command option S. If I open an existing folder I have a sidebar and I can turn it on and off with the "show sidebar" command. Finder Tab Bar Is Invisible I have recently updated my os , unfortunately tab bar has gone . I cannot find any buttons on finder windows. On finder menu i have tried to toggle tab bar option but not any changes on tab bar is seen .

What has happened to my Side Bar in Finder? All of a sudden since I turned my MacBook Pro on, the Side Bar in the "Finder" has changed and it does not list where I am keeping my files (Airdrops, Desktop, Downloads, Documents, etc.) It just shows location " My MacBook Pro". When I go into "Preferences" it shows all the listings to be used in sidebar. How could this have happened since I closed it down? How can I get this back to my original sidebar?

That is called the Preview pane, click on View in the menubar and select Hide Preview.

Press "command shift P".

Thanks. Somehow I activated this view so that every new window and tab defaulted to it despite have pulled it over in previous. Its was very confusing.
