My AirPods are muffled and sound is very low quality

My AirPods are muffled, and sound very low quality? I have them connected to my xs max and just today it started to sound very low.

1) Try cleaning them: How to clean your AirPods and EarPods

2) Full reset: Reset your AirPods

3) Service: AirPods Service and Repair
