Apple Watch stops and starts charging

My Apple Watch series 3 keeps stopping and starting charging every few seconds. I am also using the genuine charger. Any suggestions?

Visit an Apple Store and try charging your watch with a different charger. Sounds like the charging cord could be faulty.
