Phone call legitimacy

Just got a phone call saying to contact Apple regarding suspicious activity on my iCloud account. Has anyone alive been able to just contact Apple support?

That is a scam. Apple does not make those calls.

Thought this might be legit because the recording just said to contact Apple? Didn’t ask for anything else?

I have never heard of them making unsolicited phone calls. If there is a problem with the account they will prevent you (and anyone else) from logging in.
