What is the return policy if I buy a iPad and do not like it?
If you buy from Apple, in the USA and seems most other countries, Apple has a standard unconditional 14 day return policy on all items they sell (other than software).

If you buy from an Authorized Apple seller, then that sellers return policy would apply, not Apple’s.

Why should they? Authorized resellers are independent companies. Apple cannot force them to adopt Apple’s store policies. Just like Walmart, Target or other stores often sell the exact same products, but each runs their own company as it chooses and sets its own policies.
One independent company doesn’t get to dictate another independent company’s internal policies and practices.
You can return it within 14 days after purchase provided you buy it from apple.
