I'll second that.
Simple put, Apple attempts to provide all the malware detection and removal you need in Mac OS X.

I rebooted first thing, it’s on wireless, I get to the sign on part of the page, sign in, then the little symbol keeps rotating, nothing, but my four year old iPad logs on instantly ?
Its a ASUS GT-AX11000 router.
Hi, yes definitely using the right information, because the same thing gets into my router page, in safari on my MacBook, as it only happens on my MacBook, in both safari and chrome, I wonder if it’s something to do with my security software, ESET Cyber Security Pro ? I’ll ask them.
Ok, thanks for that, I’ve found the problem, it maybe a router firmware fault, it appears I was using a http:// addresses, my routers admin settings seem to be set to accept both http:// and https:// so I tried https:// worked like a dream, found this on snb forums, someone else had the same problem, thanks again guys 👍
Thanks for the info... still likely tied to your ESET Cyber Security Pro. :)
Tried again after rebooting the Mac?
Is your Mac connected to the router via Wi-Fi, or is your Mac wired?
What happens when you try to access the router web page?
What is the error message if any?
What is the make and model of the router?
R
Are you sure you are using the correct login credentials? Are you sure you are connecting to your router and not trying to connect to a neighbor's?
