Thanks for the reply. On your Mac, click Messages > Preferences > iMessage, and try signing out from your Apple ID. Then, sign back in and test it out: Change iMessage preferences in Messages on Mac

If the issue persists, try booting into safe mode next and testing to see how it works. This helps to rule out certain software causes: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac. Feel free to reply back with the results of testing in safe mode.

Can you provide some detail about what happens when you send a message? If you get an error, what does it say?

Is the issue happening when you send a message to an iMessage user, or does it only happen with non-iMessage users?

Which macOS version are you using under Apple menu () > About This Mac?

Does it help if you click Apple menu () > Restart and try sending a message as a test?
