I have not downloaded anything new a long time, but today my Google keeps going to Bing.
Since I am not a tech person, I have been trying for a while to look at different things to do to get rid of this.

I'm not a tech person either. Are you talking about Google Chrome Browser, and what is the macOS of your iMac? Try delete this Google Chrome app, and reinstall it, see if this issue of "redirects" continues.
More than likely you have downloaded malware with the Bing redirect.
Download Malwarebytes and run as per instructions.
