How to view my iCloud photos from my iPhone?

Hello everyone,

heres my question: how can I view all the photos stored in my iCloud?

I thought if if I signed in to iCloud from my iPhone I would be able to view my iCloud pictures? It appears I can’t for some reason.

I recently used an old backup stored in iTunes and restored from that. I then logged in to iCloud and was waiting for my newer pictures to come up but I can’t see any of them.

Im not sure what I’m doing wrong or if this is supported but if anyone could shine some light on this I would appreciate it. Thanks again.

If you have iCloud Photos turned on, the photos on the device are the same as on iCloud, with the possible exception that some of them may be space-saving optimized versions if you have that option turned on. You view them in the Photos app on an iOS device. You can also use a computer and login to icloud.com and go to the Photos app there. See: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204264

If you didn't have iCloud Photos turned on but do have an iCloud backup, you can restore the entire phone (not just the photos) from iCloud but you cannot otherwise view the contents of the backup. https://support.apple.com/kb/ph12521

Ok so after a whole day of leaving it alone the pictures populated!

there must’ve been so many pictures (30gigs) that iCloud just needed time for them to finally populate in the photos app. The only thing that threw me off was that I could not see the uploading indicator like it normally does but it actually worked.

Thank you you all who helped. It’s just about being patient with it.
