iMessage and FaceTime activation error

My iphone7 has suddenly started showing an error in activating phone number for iMessage and FaceTime. While, the Apple ID can be used for the same but, the phone number is always in the process of activation.

The software, date-time and carrier are up to date. I've been using the same phone number for both the services earlier. What could have caused the error and how to remove it!?
