Safari cannot be opened while it is being updated? What to do?

Go step by step and test.


1. Restart your Mac.


2. Quit Spotlight from Activity Monitor


     Finder > Applications > Utilities >Activity Monitor

     CPU > All Processes  > Spotlight

     Select Spotlight and click the Stop button at top left most corner of the window.

     Quit Activity  Monitor and test.
