Can't sync iPod to iTunes

Can't sync iPod to iTunes (Win 10) though it used to sync. Icon for iPod on iTunes doesn't display. Followed all Apple help screens but problem persists. Computer recognizes a connected iPod as a USB and a portable device.

Try iOS device not showing in iTunes for Windows - Apple Community.
