Taking a screenshot without temporary image on desktop.

How can I change my settings so that when I take a screenshot, the file goes straight to my desktop instead of being delayed for several seconds by a temporary image in the lower right corner of my screen?

Delay after taking screenshot - how to turn off? Already did this million of times. I am taking the screenshot to be saved on the desktop. Always when I do it, I want to attach the file to email or wherever else. But the file is not there yet, because there is some strange delay between taking a screenshot and the file appearing in chosen folder. Screenshot behaviour Every time I take a screenshot, I get a thumbnail preview appearing in the bottom right for 5 seconds before disappearing. How can I prevent this from always appearing, and simply just saving directly to the desktop? Thanks!

Press "command + shift + 5", click on Options, uncheck "Show Floating Thumbnail".
