my 2011 macbook pro gets very hot just above the keyboard on the left and the fan runs a lot. Suggestions for solving. I tried a different charging pack and it still gets hot.

MacBook Pro 17", OS X 10.11

For thermal management Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295
