Age Inappropriate Content

Who decides the age recommendation for apps? My family and friends have downloaded an app that is meant to be for 4+ and it is showing ads that promote sexual harassment and other inappropriate sexualised content. I have complained to the developers several times but they are still showing the ads. Sure we can stop using it but what about the rest of the users who don't monitor these things for their kids - especially when the App Store is saying that it is appropriate for ages 4 and up! HELP!

Hmm... that's a bummer! This needs to be reported but I'm not sure how.

You might try reporting it as a privacy issue:

Report a security or privacy vulnerability - Apple Support

Or as Feedback:

Product Feedback - Apple

AppStore only requires that an app conform to Apple Developer standards. I don't think they go beyond that.

You could also contact Apple Corporate about it and they could connect you to the right department.

I can only choose the "ask for a refund" option. All other report a problem options just say to contact the developers - which I have done several times with no resolution.

Step 1: Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and log in using your Apple ID.

Step 2: Choose the app or game you want a refund for, and tap Report a Problem.

Step 3: From the drop-down menu, choose the problem you want to report, and click on Submit.

You're welcome. Unfortunately, there are many apps in the AppStore which IMO do not belong there. As I said, Apple only requires that they meet Apple Developer standards. But I have seen apps pulled for inappropriate content. I hope you get some action on this.
