SIM card

My iPhone4 died recently; I now have an iPhone6s. Can the old SIM card be used to retrieve photos and/or contacts for the new phone? Thanks.

No. Sim cards do not hold any type of data outside of your phone number and carrier settings.

It may hold contacts if you had a phone that stored contacts on it. iPhones don't do that.

If you made a backup from the old phone you can use that to restore the data onto the new one.
