Safari history

Why won’t it let me delete my safari history? I’ve tried lots of thing and none of them seem to succeed. Not even the safari tab in setting, can someone please help me out

Safari menu > History > scroll to the bottom > Clear History?

If the above doesn't work and you are syncing Safari using iCloud, try going to Settings/Your Name/iCloud to turn off Safari syncing. Then see if the above works.
