Cannot sign-in to iCloud on Apple TV: Could not communicate with server

I receive an error message when trying to sign in to iCloud on my older Apple TV device (3rd gen, I believe). It has a strong signal, and all the apps, etc. are working properly. I can sign into iCloud on all my other devices. This happened before I installed the recent update, and the message is the same even after the update. Can anyone help?

The message says:

Apple TV

Thank you. I did not find that thread when I looked earlier. Now I wonder if this will also work on my husband's iPhone 4. I talked with someone at Apple about that for our photos, and she told me there was no way to get around it, as the iPhone 4 is not set up for 2-step authentication. I will try it again on his phone later today!
