video ribbon cable caught in screen hinge

I just bought this MacBook last week and I am loving it. The only problem I have is that the screen makes a crinkly sound when I open it fully. I believe it's the monitor cable that connects to the logic board - I can see it through the hinge. Is this something that is normal due to the size or should I be concerned? Everything looks and works great right now

Thanks

MacBook, macOS 10.14

Hello jtobinrock,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I understand that you hear some noise when opening your MacBook and you can see the monitor cable through the hinge when it is open. I would recommend contacting an Apple Store or Authorized Service Provider and take it in to have them take a look at it. You can use this link to contact them to set up an appointment to have a look.
