Suggestion on upgrading Macbook Pro Mid-2012

I currently own a Mid-2012 Macbook Pro and want to buy a new one. Which one should I get that's the most similar and/or better than the one I currently have? These are the basic specs.

Processor: 2.9 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Storage: 750GB SATA Disk

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.14

Keep the one you have, double up the RAM and upgrade to a SSD. Save your money, keep it backed up and upgrade to a new machine when it dies.
