Airpods won’t show up on my iphone

This morning I disconnected my airpods from my phone because only one ear was working. After I forgot the device from my phone, the airpods would not reconnect. The white light on the case is on, but it’s not showing up on my phone for some reason. I tried to reset my phone and update it. Nothing worked. I know my phone is not the issue because it’s connecting to all of the other devices i’ve tried. I don’t know what else to do.
