Locking doesnt work

Yesterday out of the blue, the locking function on my phone stopped working. My power button is working, I can use Siri with it, restart with it, and everything else with it except for locking it. I've tried using assistive touch to no prevail, and force restarting my phone, also to no prevail. I am using an iPhone X running iOS 12.3.1.
