Apple watch staying in airplane mode

My apple watch is staying in airplane mode, even though it is set to mirror my phone, and my phone is not in airplane mode. I have rebooted my phone and my watch.

I think this is working correctly. Your watch and phone will each follow the first device INTO airplane mode, but you must remove each one individually. If you think about it this makes sense because while in airplane mode the radios are totally shut down and the device is not listening for its paired partner, and the first device reactivated (iPhone) can’t send a signal to the watch.
